Molecular self-assembly at its most adaptive

Basic Langmuir-Blodgettry

Our area of expertise is the molecular liquid surface. We make equipment for measuring its two-dimensional tension, and for preparing and manipulating ultrathin layers there. Very often, these ultrathin layers are just one molecule thick, and they are then called monolayers. For those unfamiliar with this term, we have written introductions to the subject of monolayers giving the basics, some of their recent developments in the field and a discussion of their relevance, which we hope will clarify things. If you already know a thing or two, you might like to browse through the 'Advanced LB' section.
