Dip Coaters


We offer a range of dip coaters for the controlled immersion and withdrawal of substrates into solutions - ideal for sol-gel type deposition or monolayer assembly.

There is a wide choice of dimensions available - and when we say 'dimensions', we mean deposition speed, wait intervals and number of beakers as well as the physical dimensions of your slide. The first choice you have to make is whether you need a single beaker or several beakers - please click on 'mono' or 'multi'

DC-mono - Dip Coater with 1 beaker

A dip coater for the controlled immersion and withdrawal of substrates into solutions. Ideal for sol gel coatings and monolayer self-assembly.

Operation is simplicity itself - a menu is presented which gives choices of:

1. Top stop
2. Bottom stop
3. Dip speed up
4. Dip speed down
5. No of immersion cycles
6. Wait intervals (top & bottom)

Then the dip coater happily immerses your sample and voila ! All done.

The standard model has a stroke of 75mm and can carry slides of up to 250g in weight. We also make many different dip coaters for different sizes and weights.

Model DC-mono-75

Features include:

  • Programmable control of dipping cycles

  • Choice of dipper stroke of 75 or 160mm
    • (dipper 'stroke' is the maximum distance that the sample can be immersed by)

  • Display of dipper position, dip speed and cycles completed

  • Choice of dipping speeds: 1-60, 2-120, 4-240, 8-480mm/min

  • Wait intervals at top & bottom of dipping stroke.

  • Optional magnetic stirrer, temperature sensor, cover and cabinet.

  • All dip coaters are computer controlled - runs on all versions of WIN 95-XP - all cables and software included

  • Power supply 100 - 250V, 2A - suitable anywhere in the world.

Model DC with special holder


DC-multi Dip Coater with 8 beakers

This has all the features of the computer controlled DC-mono and in addition a rotating 'carousel'. This can carry eight beakers and is rotated so that the sample can be immersed into any of the beakers.

Hence fully automated dipping sequences can be performed. The large number of beakers on offer allows rinse sequences to be incorporated, so that quality of the deposited films are consistently uniform.

Features include:

  • 'Manual' control for movement of UP and DOWN and rotate to specified beaker

  • Programmable control of dipping cycles. Easy to build dip sequences

  • Variables include: beaker number, immersion depth, withdrawal height, dip speed (up & down), wait intervals (top & bottom). (16 Beaker version shown)

  • dipper stroke of 75 mm

  • Choice of dipping speeds: 1-60, 2-120, 4-240, 8-480 mm/min
