Langmuir Film Balances

The Nima 600 Series of Langmuir film balances allow the analysis and manipulation of monomolecular organic layers such as amphiphilic molecules, fatty acids and lipids. This page lists the instruments in the series, which have been designed to suit a wide range of applications in the physical chemistry of surfaces, in the statistical thermodynamics of low-dimensional systems and in membrane biology. Options, variations and accessories are available allowing monolayer characterization by a range of methods, including optical imaging and spectroscopic techniques. They are all computer controlled.

602A Standard Film Balance Our standard 600 cm2 analytical film balance for sophisticated analysis of monolayers. With 1 or 2 barriers.
702BAM Film Balance for Brewster angle microscopy 700 cm2 analytical film balance for use with the Nanofilm Brewster angle microscope. Allows simultaneous observation of monolayer and isotherm.
