We were incredibly proud to be a driving force in bringing the first official York Fashion Week to the city in 2018. A product of Fashion City York, this event was the ultimate celebration of fashion, style and creativity.
Seven days of workshops, runway shows, lectures and pop-ups, with the aim of celebrating the city’s offering and to drive footfall into York.

Our work with York Fashion Week was a full marketing management package. NIMA managed all marketing aspects of the event from branding through to event curation.
The first step in our strategy for York Fashion Week, was to design the branding and implement the new website. This needed to be a site that could be B2B and encourage more businesses to get involved in the event, but also B2C to encourage footfall and drive ticket sales. We created a fashion forward, image led site with photography from Olivia Brabbs.
We then took over the event curation. Our role was to liaise with businesses that were hoping to host events, offer support and ensure a consistent events programme that would be exactly what the end user was expecting of a fashion week. We were very proud to see 52 incredible events come together for the 2018 event, which included events with Bettys, LK Bennett, Rose & Flo, Copper & White, Jigsaw and Buttercrumble.
Social Media Management was a huge part of our role on this project across various platforms, but we also launched a blogger outreach programme. We liaised with local bloggers of various ages and styles to ensure a strong message across social channels.
PR efforts were a collaboration with Catherine Turbull and the YFW team, which saw the event featured on ITV News, The Yorkshire Post, The Press, Yorkshire Living and more.
Social Media Management
"We approached NIMA in 2015 to help with the marketing strategy and implementation for Fashion City York. The team at NIMA have done a fabulous job and exceeded our expectations.
NIMA started with a redesign of the website for Fashion City York and put together a marketing strategy for FCY and for our annual fashion event – which in April 2018 led to the launch of York’s first ever Fashion Week! Again, the team at NIMA designed a fabulous website for this, which reflected the brand perfectly. We also received a lot of positive comments about it from visitors to the site.
NIMA have also looked after the social media, PR and design of the York Fashion Week brochure.
Not only is all the work of a very high standard, the team at NIMA are a real pleasure to work with. They understand exactly what is required and give a great service. Above all – they really care and go the extra mile. Their positive and flexible approach is a huge plus point too!
A great deal of the success of Fashion City York and York Fashion Week is down to NIMA and their contribution to this initiative. We are delighted to be working with them going forward and are looking forward to Fashion Week 2019!"
